Assumption of Risk: Participants acknowledge the significant risk of any physical injury, death, sickness, or other potential adverse outcomes associated with the sport, including but not limited to permanent paralysis, death, and serious injury. Additionally, participants understand and accept the inherent risk of contracting contagious skin infections prevalent in wrestling, such as ringworm, mat herpes (Herpes gladiatorum), impetigo, and others, which can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, contact with contaminated surfaces, or other means.
Release of Liability: I agree to release and hold harmless Top-Notch Wrestling, University of Northern Colorado, wrestling facilities, coaches, volunteers, and other athletes from all claims and liabilities of any type whatsoever, including claims related to contagious skin infections. This release includes damages to property, loss, or any destruction of property, or injury, sickness, or death which may result from participation in this club and any activities hosted by this club, including but not limited to contagious skin infections.
Use of Photos/Media: I understand that my child’s photo/media may be used for promotional purposes, including media day and practice photos.
Athlete’s Representation: As an athlete of this club, I represent Top Notch and the coaches who train me. Any behaviors not tolerated can result in removal/dismissal/suspension of my participation in the club. I am expected to display good character on and off the mat and represent Top Notch in a positive way at all times, including in my personal/school life.
Facility Damage: I understand that it is a privilege to participate in this program and use the facility provided. I acknowledge that if I damage the facility by being careless or by accident, I will be at fault and can be held liable for all charges of any damages done to the facility or in the wrestling room.
Parental Role: As a parent, I understand that I can play a huge role in the success of my child. If my child is struggling, I can learn and help coach my child at home. I agree to leave coaching my child at home and let the coaching staff at Top Notch do all of the training. I will keep all conversations down to a minimum, as I understand that it can be a distraction to the athletes and coaches. Parents and athletes are expected to stop talking/distractions in the room while the coaches are talking. Siblings may come to practice, but we need to do what we can to keep the environment a learning environment, please always keep all non-athletes off the mat.
Coach Participation: I understand that if I have not been asked to coach, I will stay off the mat. I understand I cannot be on the mat without having my coaching credentials and safe sport courses completed. Recruitment Policy: I and my child understand that recruiting is not tolerated in this club. If this is something that we see happening, it will result in dismissal/suspension of the club.
Sportsmanship: Good sportsmanship is expected from all wrestlers, parents, and coaches at every practice and every match. It is expected to demonstrate a positive attitude and speak in a positive manner towards everyone. Late and Leaving Early Policy: Wrestlers must respect the times of the program and may be asked to leave or sit out if they consistently show up late or leave early. Exceptions may be made up to the coach’s discretion.
USA Wrestling Card Requirement: Wrestlers will need an active USA Wrestling card for competition and insurance purposes.
Shower and Skin Care Policy: Athletes must shower directly after practice or use any precautionary measures to prevent skin infections. Wrestlers must report any skin infection and take necessary precautionary measures before returning to practice.
Media Day and Photos: Parents are responsible for pulling their wrestlers out for any media day or photos taken during practice if they don’t want their image posted in media.
Payment Policy: Payment is due on the first of the month. Payment is only valid for the month of the date paid with very little exception up to the coach’s discretion. Late payment may result in the wrestler sitting out.
Refund Policy: Participants acknowledge that there are no refunds for any missed practices, suspensions, or other absences, regardless of the reason, including but not limited to injury, illness, or personal commitments. Payment is considered valid for the entire month upon receipt, and no refunds will be issued for partial attendance or discontinuation of participation during the month. Furthermore, in the event of suspension from the club due to violation of club policies or misconduct, no refunds will be provided for any remaining portion of the membership period. All payments made to Top Notch Wrestling are non-refundable and non-transferable.
