Personal Development Training
Our Personal Development Course is designed exclusively for advanced wrestlers dedicated to honing their skills and reaching their full potential. Instructed by Andrew Alirez Sr., this course offers individualized training and one-on-one sessions with Coach Andrew Alirez Jr., ensuring personalized attention and tailored guidance.
This selective course is ideal for wrestlers who are committed to taking their abilities to the next level. Participants are chosen based on their experience and skill level, and coaches may recommend starting with the team practice sessions before joining this advanced group. The Personal Development Course takes place at the same time and location as the Team Practice, in the UNC Harold W. Brown Wrestling Room, but is conducted separately to provide focused, specialized training.
Through customized training plans, wrestlers will work on advanced techniques, strategic thinking, and mental toughness. Coach Alirez Jr. provides detailed feedback and specific drills designed to address each wrestler’s unique strengths and areas for improvement.
The goal of the Personal Development Course is to cultivate top-tier wrestlers who are well-rounded in their skills and prepared for high-level competition. By the end of the course, athletes will have significantly enhanced their wrestling abilities, developed a deeper understanding of the sport, and built the confidence needed to excel.

Team Practice
Envision your child stepping onto the mat at the UNC Harold W. Brown Wrestling Room, eager to learn and grow. Our practice sessions, held from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, are led by Head Coach Andrew Alirez Sr. and Assistant Coach Quinton Fuentes. We welcome wrestlers aged 8-16, and even younger athletes, aged 6-7, can join with a parent or guardian present to guide them.
Our season begins with a focus on the basics. We start with detailed instruction on fundamental techniques and physical wrestling skills, making it ideal for beginners and those returning to the sport. This phase helps your child build a strong foundation and gain confidence.
As the season progresses, our training evolves. We introduce more advanced techniques, drills, and games designed to enhance muscle memory and quick reflexes. This dynamic approach keeps the training engaging and ensures continuous improvement.
Towards the end of the season, the focus shifts to repetition drills and sparring sessions, preparing our athletes for competition. They will learn to apply their skills in real match scenarios, ready to face challenges with confidence.
